It is a highly inflected language with six cases and a notable feature is the frequency of clusters of consonants. It is written in the **Cyrillic alphabet and the standard form is based on the dialect of Moscow. *Slavonic languages are native to East Europe and North West Asia. **The Cyrillic alphabet developed from a Greek alphabet of the 9th century AD in the course of Greek missionary work. It originally consisted of 43 letters, but modern versions have reduced this number to about 30. Is Russian difficult to learn?

Moscow lies on the Moscow River in the west central European part of Russia. Moscow was restored as Russia's capital in 1918, and it served as the capital of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) from 1922 until 1991. Moscow has a continental climate, with long, cold winters and short, mild summers. Average annual precipitation is 581 mm (23 in), much of it falling in the winter as heavy snow.
